A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court today restrained the State Government from undertaking all non-forest activities, including construction of road, felling of trees at Mathikettan Shola and from making any assignment of land there. Nature Lovers Movement, Thiruvamkulam, had challenged the encroachments in 3,000 hectares of natural, evergreen shola forests at Mathikettan, which is a part of the Cardamon Hill Reserve lying along the Kerala-Tamil Nadu boarder.
