The Kerala High Court has restrained Vaigai Thread Mills, Koratty, form cutting and removing trees from the 90-acre Government land held by them at Koratty on lease. The lease was only in respect of the land and the trees standing in it, which included valuable teak, rosewood, sandalwood, jack fruit trees, mango trees and various other softwood trees, stood vested in the Government. Hence the company was not entitled to cut down the trees.
