In a significant order, the Bombay High Court on Friday directed that no new private non-commercial vehicle should be registered in Mumbai from January 1, 2000 unless it conformed to the India 2000 norms. The India 2000 norms, which are similar to Euro-I, stipulate strict conditions to control vehicular emissions.
