The Delhi High Court issued a contempt notice to Municipal Corporation of Development (MCD) Additional Commissioner (JJ & slums) for not executing its order to remove the slum cluster on the banks of river Yamuna near Pragati Maidan n New Delhi. A Division Bench of Mr Justice Bijender and Mr Justice Rekha Sharma asked the Commissioner to be present in the court next month. In 2002, the High Court had directed the authority to remove the slums from the area and hand over the position of the land to the DDA.
