The Rajasthan High Court has issued notices to the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and the State Chief Secretary on the felling of trees along National Highway 79 between Dausa and Rattanpur on the Rajasthan-Gujarat border for fourlaning it.The Court is on the bassis of a public interest petition filed by an environmentalist from Bhilwara accusing the State and the NHAI of not taking the initiative for alternative tree plantation in the wake of cutting of 2.25 lakh trees on a 550-km stretch.
