The Himachal Pradesh High Court issued notice to the state government on the issue of encroachment on the forest land in Lahaul and Spiti area by the foreign nationals. The matter was brought to the notice of the court through a letter written to the Chief Justice by a travel agent Rajbir Singh, wherein he raised this issue and alleged that the slopes of Rohtang Pass in Lahaul and Spiti encroached by Nepalese on a large scale from Gramphu to Koksar in an area of 7 km.
