The Delhi High Court dismissed a public interest litigation which alleged that the Tamil Nadu Government had misused funds during an afforestation drive in 1999. The PIL, which was filed by Rashtriya Mukti Morcha through its counsel Mr Ravinder Kumar, alleged that the TN government and its pollution control board-in year 1999-2000-during a tree plantation drive in the state purposely hiked the sampling cost of the trees.
