The centrally-funded Integrated Wasteland Development Project has made a satisfying headway in Gurgaon part of Aravalli foothill. According to preliminary appraisal of the project implemented by the experts of Union Wasteland Development Ministry "the soil erosion in the 15 watersheds (identified for development in the first phase of the IWDP), has been successfully checked. The water stored in the earthen dams around these watersheds as well as the woodlots have helped increasing the reservoir level of the underground."
