Health card scheme for the poor soon

The Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif has asked the authorities concerned to resolve the outstanding issues of doctors pertaining to their recruitment on regular basis, salary and service structure and house job during the current month and doctors community would soon listen good news. Chief Ministers Task Force chairman on Health, Dr Asad Ashraf said this while addressing the prize distribution ceremony of sports week of Punjab Institute of Mental Health (PIMH), here on Monday. Dr Asad Ashraf said that Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has taken solid steps for the welfare of the poor and special attention is being paid to provide maximum health facilities to the poor. He disclosed that health card scheme for poor would be introduced in Punjab very soon. He maintained that sports activities of special persons had been continued for a week which were participated by the patients of PIMH enthusiastically on the last days few games held including 50 meter race, tyre race, Bori race, lemon race and tug of war. Dr Nusrat Habib, Executive Director, in her welcome address said that due to terrorist activities in our country and other social problems aggressive attitude and anxiety in children as well as in adults have been increasing day by day and it could be minimised by promotion of sports activities. She said that importance of psychiatrists in our society is also increasing day by day. She urged upon the health department that mental health should be given the same attention, which had been given to other diseases.
