Heavy storm and rainfall creating great mishaps in state

After four dozen deaths due to heavy storm and rainfall during the last 48-hours, 14 more casualties were reported in separate mishaps in the State since Sunday evening. In Bulundshahr, one Rakesh Agarwal, a native of Jawa locality of Aligarh was returning with his family after attending marriage of his maternal niece in Bulundshahr in the wee hours of Monday. When Rakesh was crossing Sikarpur Mazar locality under the Sikarpur police station, his Maruti car (UP81AC-4791)was hit by a speeding truck (RJ11GA-1682) in which he himself along with his entire family which included his wife Rachna, his sons -- Rahul and Ankur, Rahul's wife Tushi and their 6-year-old son died on the spot. The truck later turned turtle but still the driver and the cleaner both managed to safely slip from the spot. In another incident at Jyotiba Phule Nagar, sub-inspector, Umesh Chandra Yadav, who was incharge of Brijghat police station, was getting the road cleared from fallen tress at NH-24 on Gajraula highway on Monday morning. He also summoned a crane to clear the blockade. When Umesh Chandra and others were busy in work a speeding truck first crushed him to death and later in order to flee from the spot the driver also killed a home guard, Babloo and crane driver, identified as Nikku. Later the truck rammed with another vehicle. The local residents who gathered there nabbed the truck driver and handed him over to local police. In Azamgarh also, constable Dharmendra Yadav, whose marriage was fixed for coming Friday was on leave from his duty at local Reserve Police Lines. On Monday afternoon he was going on a two-wheeler when some unknown vehicle knocked him down at Kakhbhar Baar in Raunapar killing the victim on the spot. In Chitrakot a dozen of females which included minors fom Odhanpurwa hamlet of Pahadi went to take out mud to repair their huts on Sunday evening. When they were collecting mud a big heap suddenly caved in and they all were trapped under it. The local villagers rushed to their rescue but still five of them identified as Sudha (14), Sheelu (12), Shobha (15), Sampatti Devi (22), and Keshkali (35), were killed in the incident. Lastly in Allahabad, three persons were killed while seven others were feared dead in a tragic mishap. Reports said that ten persons were crossing Ganga river at Dengurpur hamlet of Manda in Allahabad in the wee hours of Monday when suddenly their boat capsized midway and they all were drowned. The local police summoned divers who just managed to fish out three bodies while seven others were still missing. Those whose bodies were fished out were identified as Pooja (5), a native of Bhadohi, Rajmani Gupta, and Vinod Kumar, both natives of Mirjapur.
