Heavy vehicles will soon be allowed to enter the city only through 10 national highways. The first of the toll booths on these highways will be inaugurated on Thursday at Badarpur border. The roads to be opened to heavy vehicles are: National Highways 2, 6, 8, 10, GT Road, Rohtak Road, Gurgaon Road and Kapasera. Toll booths on the other highways will be opened by June-end. CSE director Sunita Narain said the new system is important to achieve the goals set out by the SC. She said this would reduce pollution levels in the city.
