The Nepal government's decision to displace polluting three-wheelers, known as Vikram tempos, from the Kathmandu Valley, deserves to be commended, the expression of dissatisfaction over the move from some areas notwithstanding. It is true that the city needs a reliable alternative to the Vikrams. These diesel-operated old tempos, reportedly discarded by operators in India was introduced in Kathmandu with a view to make profits. (editorial)
