The state BJP Bhoo Parirakshana Samiti convenor, Dr S. Malla Reddy, said that farmers were meted out injustice in land acquisition for establishment of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and urged the state government to take steps to help them. Speaking to newsmen here on Sunday, he said farmers were facing problem as more than required land was being acquired for setting up of SEZs and prices at the time of notification were being paid after three years of land acquisition. Mr Malla Reddy criticised that the state government had arrested farmers, who had obstructed acquisition of thousands of acres of land in Kakinada for SEZ, and kept them in jail for one week.
