The Central government announced the constitution of a high-powered committee under the chairmanship of former Lieutenant-Governor of Delhi, Mr Tejinder Khanna, who was well-known for dealing with building and land law violations with a strict hand during his tenure. The search for political representatives of the committee is on, an Urban Development Ministry source said. "The committee's terms and reference are being drafted. One of the key jobs of the proposed Central committee on building and land law violations in the Capital will also involve suggesting tough action against the builder mafia blamed for proliferation of illegal structures across Delhi,' the source said.
