The government of Himachal Pradesh is carrying out an exercise to undo yet another decision of the previous Dhumal government by withdrawing the notification concerning forest department, vide which certain categories of wasteland were excluded from the notified forest areas. The Forest Minister for the state, Mr Chander Kumar, disclosed this, saying that the said notification by the BJP government was illegal. Mr Kumar said that since the decision to exclude the wasteland classified as Gair Mumkin and Charagah Bila Drakhtan from the notified forest areas, was taken earlier by the then cabinet, the decision in the matter would now be taken with the approval of the cabinet.
