The Himachal Pradesh Cabinet decided to provide a State guarantee of Rs 5 crore in favour of Himachal Pradesh Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation (SCSTDC), Solan, for raising loan from the National Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation, Government of India, for providing higher cost loans to Scheduled Tribe families of the State. Giving details of the Cabinet decisions Ms Rajendra Bhattacharya, Chief Secretary, said that this decision would benefit tribal families in getting low interest rate loans from the SCSTDC. The Cabinet also approved waiving of the guarantee fee at the rate of one per cent and 0.2 (zero point two) per cent commitment charges chargeable on the said State guarantee in larger interests of tribal people.
