In one of the major decisions, and a long awaited once concerning at least 20,000 people in the peripheral areas of Shimla town, the Himachal Pradesh Cabinet today decided to withdraw the newly merged area from the jurisdiction of the Municipal Coporation Shimla and instead set up Notified Area Committees (NACs) or nagger panchayats in each of these areas. This would hopefully meet the long pending demand of the residents of this area.
