Those involved in the betel and paan masala trade are now making use of gambier instead of katha, thus causing hardship for the families residing in the Shivalik foothills of Himachal Pradesh.The government of this hill state is advocating that immediate steps should be taken by the Centre to stop the use of gambier in paan masala and betel leaves.
