The Planning Commission today approved an annual plan outlay of Rs 2,700 crore for Himachal Pradesh for 2009-10.
The outlay, which include a special Plan assistance of Rs 500 crore for projects of importance to the state, was fixed at a meeting between the Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia and Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal.
After the meeting Dhumal told reporters, "Himachal's focus will be on power sector for which we have approached the World Bank and the Planning Commission".
Ahluwalia said, "we have approved a Plan size of Rs 2,700 crore which is what the state wanted," .
"It is our feeling that all states may need more resources from the Centre. We are not able to do anything more than what is actually in the interim Budget but I have mentioned that we hope that in the full budget there may be more resources," he added.
Earlier the Commission had sought suggestions from the state on flexibility needed for better utilisation of central schemes.
