The California Air Resources Board hasdesignated versions of Honda Motor Co. Ltd.'s and Nissan Motor Co. Ltd.'s 2000-model cars meet the new Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle standard, the Japanese automakers said yesterday. The low-emission 2000 Honda Accord will go on sale in California by January, making it the first gasoline-powered vehicle with the super ultra-low emission designation on the market, Honda said. The new emissions requirements are the most stringent in the world and part of California more stringent exhaust emission standards that go into effect beginning in the 2004 model year.
