Firefighters hoped for cooler and wetter weather to help them extinguish a fire that has torched an estimated 22,000 hectares of forest and crop land in Spain's north eastern Catalonia region. Two thirds of the 55,000 acres affected was forest, while remainder was farm and scrubland.
