Horticulture review meet in Ramban

To promote Horticulture in Ramban district having congenial agro-climate conditions for fruit cultivation, Director Horticulture, Jammu, J.L Sharma took an emergency meeting of all the officers and employees of the district at Ramban here, today. The progress of various development schemes being implemented in Ramban were reviewed in the meeting. Sharma directed all the field officers to ensure proper implementation of various departmental schemes so that the farmers are benefited. He impressed upon the Horticulture Development officers to work with dedication for the betterment of farming community. Later Director Horticulture inspected Advanced Centre for Horticulture Development at Govindpora-Ramban and reviewed the ongoing development activities at the farm for expansion of Horticulture in Jammu division. He directed the Farm Manager to ensure maximum production/multiplication of quality plant material of various fruit species like Strawberry, Kiwi. Olive, Grafted Walnut, Apple, Pear, Peach and Plum so that farmers get substantive remunerative benefits.
