By 15 December, the 2,000-odd squatters occupying parts of the Rabindra Sarobar land belonging to the railway will have to vacate their present habitation, the Division Bench of Mr VS Sirpurkar, Chief Justice and Mr Justice Ashok Ganguly of Calcutta High Court. Extending the time limit to vacate, which expired today, on "humanitarian ground' the Division Bench held that action to get the occupied area vacated would start on 16 December and continue till the place is free of squatters. Going by the day's order, the squatters would be allowed to carry away construction material and would be given an acknowledgement of their having vacated the place by four senior police officers posted there
