Faridabad, often referred to as a poor cousin of fast growing Gurgaon in the matter of overall development, may find itself on the frontline of growth if the projects conceived and proposed to be taken up by the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) are realised in due course of time. HUDA has announced taking up work on about two dozen schemes worth over Rs 170 crore during the current financial year of 2006-07. Mr Mehtab Singh Sehrawat, Administrator, HUDA, told there were several projects that had been revived. These had been conceived several years ago but languishing in files. They would start shortly as an estimate had been prepared and sent for approval for the authorities concerned to be launched during the present financial year.
