Huge cache of firewood, timber seized

  • 01/03/1999

The employees of Bagra forest reserve in Madhya Pradesh seized a large amount of firewood and timber from a nala in the forest close to the brick kiln factories located in village Jhalon. The wood brought from the nearby forests were stacked there. It seems to be a small example of what was actually going on inside the forest. It seems the forest employees have tried to save their skin rather than showing their obedience by detecting the heaps of wood because if somebody enters the Dhamania and Kharda forests and count the standing trunks of trees he would be sure that the forests were on verge of extinction because these areas have become vast tracts of barren land.
