Safe and hygienic disposal of human waste remains a far-fetched dream for residents of many town panchayats and third-grade municipalities in Kancheepuram district. As there is no proper sewer disposal network the residents have to keep human waste in huge septic tanks and engage private service providers to clean them once in every six or 12 months.
