A public interest litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Karnataka High Court seeking a directive to the Government to vacate the Bangalore Press Club, which houses one of the most famous watering holes in the city. In his petition, an environmentalist Bhimal N Desai has contended that the existence of the Club posed a permanent danger to the Cubbon Park, the lush green expanse spread over 300 acres, overlooking the Vidhana Soudha, the majestic state secretariat.
