Illegal loggers face the chop

A police investigation report on illegal logging in Thailand's Salween national park has recommending prosecution of 16 suspects, including forestry officials and logging businessmen. The suspects are charged with colluding to illegally cut 13,215 teak logs worth 150 million baht in the park in Mae Hong Son and transport them to Sahavanakij (2499) Co in Tak between Dec 26, 1996 and Dec 9, 1997.
