A huge consignment of sandalwood headed to Myanmar from Chennai was seized in Guwahati with forest and police officials suspecting that it was being smuggled out. About 60 tonnes of red and white sandalwood, was seized by Government Railway Police following information from forest officials even as the logs were being loaded onto four trucks booked for Moreh in Manipur on the Indo-Myanmar border, a known route for smuggling.
