Illegally felled timber to be auctioned at Sanguem

The truckloads of timber which were seized in the illegal tree felling case in Sanguem, Goa, from the government property, allegedly by Forest Department officials, are to be auctioned at Forest Department office, Sanguem, even before the inquiry in the illegal tree felling case is completed. Sources informed that the timber, which was lying at the site in Naiquinim village from where it was felled, is also reported to be transported and is presently kept at Forest Depot in Bhati. At the time of preliminary inquiry, it was specifically mentioned that the timber shall not be transported till the inquiry in the matter is completed.
