ILO lauds India for efforts to curb bonded labour

The Government has received a pat from the International Labour Organisation (ILO) for its "successful efforts to combat bonded labour." Though the ILO has taken toe of India's two decade-long efforts to measure and eradicate the problems of forced or compulsory labour through a range of initiatives, the accolades have particularly come in for the success stories demonstrated by the Andhra Pradesh Government in recent years.
