Improve fuel quality first, say carmakers

The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers(SIAM)on Saturday said compliance with stringent emission norms is not possible without supply of good quality fuel and a strict enforcement mechanism for inspection and certification of vehicles.Interacting with newspersons here, newly-eleted SIAM president Venu Srinivasan said for achieving Euro-II emission norms, sulphur content in petrol and diesel should be only 0.05 per cent which is not available in the country.
