The lives of the people of Bhiwandi are at stake due contaminated water they are receiving from the corporation. The Citizens have lodge several complaints with the corporation in this regard. After receiving complaints, the water supply department merely dug up the ground to find the source from where the water getting contaminated. According to the Sagir Ahmed, a resident of Mahada colony said that it was more than a year they were drinking muddy water. Whenever the citizens lodged complaints, the civic authorities merely dug up the ground at several places to trace the source of getting water contaminated. The authorities are yet to find the exact location. He said that in fact it were the illegal connections that lead to the problem of contaminated water. Civic officers continue to ignore the matter of illegal connections. To hide the illegal connection, miscreants generally used to lay water pipeline through covered gutter or through Nalla. Pipe vacuum leads to the suction of dirty water into water connection. The leakage then mixed with portable water causing contamination, he said.
