In Rajasthan, tigers still roar

Here is some good news for wildlife enthusiasts. The number of tigers as also herbivores in the state has gone up this year. The number of tigers has shot up from 32 in 2008 to 44 in 2009, excluding two cubs. A recent wildlife census reveals that the Ranthambore National Park has the maximum number of big cats at 36 followed by four in the Sawai Man Singh Sanctuary adjacent to the park, three in the Sariska Tiger Reserve and one in the Keoladeo National Park. Apart from it there are two cubs as well at the Ranthambore Park. The fresh wildlife census conducted on May 8-10 has also hinted at the rise in number of the herbivores in the state
