Cuts and bruises mark their body, edgy animals often charge at them and foul gas form open innards makes them want to throw up: Believe it or not, this is a normal working day in the lives of over 50 children aged between eight and 15 employed tow state-run slaughter houses at Frazer Town, Bangalore. Here, the Karnataka Meat and Poultry Marketing Corporation Limited (KMPMC) employs children in violation of the Child Labour Act, 1986 (Part 3, Section 6) that prohibits it in hazardous environments such as in slaughter houses.
