India might not honour accord on CFC: NGO

India might not be able to honour the international agreement to phase out the Ozone layer depleting chemicals in time as truck-loads of these deleterious substances are being smuggled into t he country mainly through porous Indo-Nepal border, according to a London based agency.India, committed to do away with ozone depleting substance (ODS) Chlorofluorocarbons (CFC) completely by 2010 and cut down its use by 50 per cent within the next four years, would fail to honour the Montreal Convention, a global treaty that calls for banning use CFC following smuggling of a huge quantities of ODS through the Indo-Nepal border, the Environmental Investigation Agency stated.
