India has singed a memorandum of agreement with Unesco for setting up a regional centre for education and training in the field of biotechnology. Considered first of its kind in the country, the centre will conduct research activities in the field of social relevance like nano-technology, stem cell research, biosensors, agriculture and environment related biotechnology.
