India will oppose all the efforts of the developed West to link up world trade with issues relating to multilateral agreement on foreign investment, labour , environment, and other social issues at the forthcoming Seattle ministerial meeting on World Trade Organisation. The developed West, notably United States and the European Union, are raking up this linkage to pressurise the developing countries, which are resisting all moves to expand the agenda of the meeting.
