India and some of the developing nations, stung by the lopsided technology transfer rules imposed by the West under the Montreal Protocol on ozone layer protection, are now trying to negotiate the terms in their favour. At the forthcoming talks in November, India would seek easier promotion of indigenous technologies and transfer of knowhow, according to Mr. Atul Bagai, Director, Ozone Cell, under the Ministry of Environment & Forests (MoEF).
