Indore: National Green Tribunal (NGT), central bench at Bhopal, has sought action plan prepared by the state government for cleaning Saraswati River.
The government and Indore Municipal Corporation has been directed to give a power point presentation on the plan chalked out to clean the river on May 12, the next date for hearing on a petition filed by social activist Kishor Kodwani.
Kodwani had filed the petition alleging that the government has no concrete plan for cleaning Saraswati and Khan rivers along with 10 other adjoining rivers. On the direction of NGT, the IMC had recently selected a stretch on Saraswati River as pilot project for cleaning.
“The NGT sought to know what mechanism has been derived by the IMC to clean the entire riverbed of 25 kilometer which runs through the city,” said Kodwani.
