Industry body urges minister to help solve MPCB issues

AURANGABAD: Chamber of Marathwada Industries and Agriculture (CMIA) has urged industries minister Subhash Desai to intervene in the matters involving industries and the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB). Dushyant Patil, the CMIA secretary said on Saturday, "Industry representatives led by CMIA president, Gurpreet Singh Bagga, and vice president, Prasad Kokil, recently had a detailed interaction with Desai, in the presence of MIDC Regional Officer, Soham Wayal, to get him up to speed with the industrial scenario and different issues entrepreneurs may face. "We spoke to him about of issues related to the National Green Tribunal (NGT) and initiatives of the CMIA and the Marathwada Environmental Care Cluster," he said. "We have also urged him to have an anchor industry so as to get additional work to existing MSMEs in the wake of the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) project. . The minister has assured us of every possible cooperation," Patil added. According to Patil, CMIA has also sought the minister's time in Mumbai to provide him with the details of the situation and requirement of industries from the region.
