President K R Narayanan today presented the National Award for Child Welfare, 1999, to five institutions and an individuals for their outstanding and voluntary contribution to the field of child development and welfare. The award instituted in 1979 carry a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh and a citation for institutions and RS 50,000 and a citation for the individual.
