The just concluded three-day meet of the Commonwealth Forestry Association (CFA) here has urged the governemnt to evolve an integrated national forest policy so that no ministry or department harms the forests in order to show quick results. The conference said the policies under which the different ministries and departments work have different sectoral targets to achieve and, as a result in their anxiety to perform well, they often encroach upon the forest land.This harms the cause of forest development and conservation.
