IOC to scale up CSR activities

BHUBANESWAR: The Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, celebrating its golden jubilee this year, has planned to scale up its activities in the corporate social responsibility sector in the State. The petroleum major will adopt villages for street lighting and rainwater harvesting and donate furniture and books to select government schools. Besides drug and alcohol abuse rehabilitation training to tanker crew at supply points, the IOC has planned road safety drive along with traffic and felicitation of Plus Two toppers are also on the agenda. A host of programmes for the distributors, dealers, retailers and employees are in the offing. IOC had launched the campaign through 50 highway outlets jointly with Orissa State AIDS Control Society (OSACS) with trained pump attendants acting as counsellors. Launched under the aegis of UNICEF, the programme is now being scaled up by NACO.
