Iron pills: 50 kids taken ill in Rewari

Rewari, July 25: As many as 50 children of the Government Primary School of Mamadia Ahir village, about 22 km from Rewari, were taken ill, eight of them seriously, after they were administered iron and folic acid tablets today. While the seriously ill eight children have been admitted to the trauma centre here, the remaining ones were being treated at the Primary Health Centres at Khol and Siha villages. Sunil Kumar, officiating head teacher of the school, said soon after the iron pills were given to the children as per instructions of the higher authorities, the children started vomiting and complained of loose motions as well. They were immediately rushed to the trauma centre and the PHCs. 6 students taken ill in Faridabad Faridabad: Six children of a senior secondary school here were taken ill after consuming iron tablets They were rushed to the BK Civil Hospital here by the principal. They complained of headache and dizziness. While three of them were discharged soon, the others, Mamta (10), Sonam(12) and Chinki (16), are under observation. Their condition was stable and were likely to be discharge soon. The children had consumed the tablets under the supervision of government health workers.
