Scientists at the International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy, Hyderabad have produced a type of highly reactive iron powder that they claim can be used for decontaminating groundwater as well as river water. They say it can also be used to remove arsenic a deadly poison present in wells in several parts of West Bengal and Bangladesh.
