As part of its efforts towards educating technicians and service industry personnel towards phasing out of chloroflurocarbons (CFCs) along with chlorine and bromine-containing compounds, IT Power India Private Limited, an implementation agency for the Union ministry of environment and forests, has decided to expand its activities beyond south to other parts of India. Keeping in mind the Montreal Protocol accord, India, through the ministry, has taken a number of steps towards phasing out of CFCs, which otherwise cause ozone depletion in the earth's stratosphere, IT Power India has been conducting various training programmes for technicians on the technology apart from equipping them with proper equipment to remove CFCs used in refrigerators and air-conditioners, said Mrs Teresa Marston, manager, (publications and awareness) of IT Power India.
