Japan International Cooperation Agency (JAICA) will provide technological assistance and infrastructure facilities to establish a National Solid Waste Management Support Centre (NSWMSC) under the Provincial Council and Local Government Ministry. The MoU was signed between the Government Representative, Provincial Council and Local Government Secretary Cassian Herath and JAICA Deputy Residential Representative Hideki Sakata at the Ministry. NSWMSC's main function is coordinating and post-reviewing activities of Waste Management Projects implemented by Local Bodies
