Jal board releases Rs 3,150-cr plan to clean up Yamuna river

The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) today released its Rs 3,150 crore plan for cleaning the Yamuna which includes large-scale construction of sewers and interceptors to prevent sewage from flowing into the river. The plan involves laying 115 km of sewer lines across Delhi. Arun Mathur, Chief Executive Officer of the DJB, said sewage that flows into Delhi's 18 major drains needs to be treated before it is emptied into Yamuna.
