Jalpaiguri vetted for tourism projects

The state tourism department has decided to rope in corporate houses and private players to develop tourist centres in Jalpaiguri district, West Bengal. The chief minister had earlier spoken of the need to do more for development of tourism in North Bengal, especially in Bauxa and Dooars. Some corporate bigwigs, industrialists and realtors recently took stock of some select spots in Jalpaiguri district in the company of tourism minister Mr Manab Mukherjee and principal secretary, Mr GD Gautama and other officials. Earlier, the minister has declared in Assembly that the state tourism department will rope in private players for setting up roadside facilities along the two flanks of national highways
